When you don't need a full mix, but more than what a

stereo master can do. For punch, clarity, balance, depth, impact and energy + loudness.

Preparing and passing your project for stem-mastering: â€‹

  • Format: 24 bit depth .wav format unconverted (same sample rate as recorded in) with no dithering.

  • Max 12 stems per song.

  • Name all stems in an informative manner. A good way of exporting your song into stems could be: 1 Kick, 2 Snare,  3 Hi-hat + toms + cymbals etc., 4 Bass, 5 Guitars, 6 Keys, 7 Lead synth, 8 Effects, 9 Backing vocals, 10 Lead vocals, 11 Vocal reverb + delay. Please provide a dry lead vocal signal (no reverb or delay - keep autotune if present) and keep vocal reverb and delay in its own stem.

  • Disable all compressors and limiters on the master track.

  • Remove all unwanted noises, breaths, clicks and other artefacts before exporting.

  • Provide BPM.

  • Include your latest mix for referencing. You may include tracks by other artist for referencing as well.

  • Please listen to all tracks after exporting to check for errors and avoid misunderstandings.

  • Provide a file transfer link e.g. www.wetransfer.com.

Preparing your track for stem-mastering can seem rather complicated. If you have any questions or doubt - don't hesitate to reach out.
